Are you the girl who finds herself looking around the room at events hoping that neither the wrong or right person approaches you because you don’t particularly like having to consider how you will respond to what they may say? Are you the girl who laughs or sometime cries in situations where giggles nor tears are warranted? Are you the girl who ponders her reactions in the morning before she even leaves out of the door just to make sure you don’t say “fine, and you?” when someone says “Good morning!” Lol, no seriously, this has happened to me before.
Don’t worry yourself, it is ok. Despite what therapist have to say about it, there is nothing wrong with not being as sociable as everyone else. Well let me correct myself. There is nothing wrong with it is as long as it does not prevent you from living your life the way that you choose. Say it with me, my name is <insert name here> and I am awkward, and I am ok with it.
To my fellow awkward folk, please do not apologize for your random interest, or when you get exhausted from having to speak to too many people in one setting. Do not apologize for preferring to sit at home to Netflix and chill over going out with the girls. Because let’s face it, depending on which of your friends is “going through” at that moment, the Netflix original probably has far less drama and is more relaxing.
Be awkward, be you, be beautiful.
